    Pep Boys is pleased to announce its Automotive Technician Scholarship Program awarding five (5) students up to
    $10,000 and 10 students up to $5,000 to help support educational expenses for the 2021-2022 school year. Funding for
    the scholarships is provided through Pep Boys, which provides industry-leading after-market service throughout the
    United States and Puerto Rico.

    $10,000 scholarship winners will be selected from the following five metro areas: Los Angeles (CA), Orlando (FL),
    Dallas/Houston (TX), Puerto Rico, and Philadelphia (PA). $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to worthy recipients from
    anywhere in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

    All scholarship recipients will be eligible for preferred placement in a Pep Boys internship, apprenticeship program
    and/or a full-time automotive tech position upon graduation.

    Individuals who meet the following criteria are eligible for the Pep Boys Technician Scholarship. The individuals
    must:
    • Be a legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico.
    • At the time of application, you must be either accepted into or currently enrolled in (either full-time or
    part-time) an accredited college, university, or trade school within the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
    • Be in pursuit of an automotive technician degree or certification (or equivalent degree / certification).
    • Have a 2.5 minimum high school cumulative grade point average OR, If already enrolled in an auto technician
    program, you must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative grade point average in the program.
    • Submit most recent official transcript of all academic work.
    • Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from non-family members.
    • Submit a typed essay (no more than five (5) pages in length, double-spaced, 1,200 words maximum) OR a video (no
    more than three (3) minutes long) describing how you take ownership for you career, your ability to solve problems,
    your ability to learn new skills, and why you see yourself as a team player. In this essay or video, you should also
    explain “why I want to be a top technician.”
    • Past recipients of Pep Boys/Icahn Automotive scholarships are welcome to re-apply.
    • Specified proof of enrollment and GPA will be required to release award disbursements. Funds will be paid directly
    to the school in which you are enrolled.
    • Be willing to participate in a Pep Boys internship or in our preferred early-employment program while in school.
    • If selected for a $10,000 scholarship, you must be available to accept the award in person on the specified date
    and location.

    Career Goals Details

    Pep Boys wants to know if you have what it takes to be a top technician of tomorrow. Specifically, we want to know if
    you take ownership for you career, how you solve problems, how you learn new skills, and why you see yourself as a
    team player. We also want you to explain “why I want to be a top technician.”

    There are two options for submitting this information:

    • Written Essay: Include a three (3) to five (5) page essay (1,200 words maximum) with your submission, OR
    • Video: 2–3-minutes in length.


    These can be uploaded with your submission or you may submit a video link (YouTube / Vimeo) with your application
    package
